The SmartCharge^TM is built in a rugged, industrial-strength, aluminum housing and can be DIN rail mounted. An optional DIN or wall-mount battery shelf is also available. The SmartCharge^TM is designed for industrial use and provides regulated 5VDC and 12VDC outputs as well as an unregulated 26VDC output.

The integrated web and SNMP server provides remote monitoring and status notifications including internal temperature. An optional external temperature sensor can be connected and monitored as well. The onboard computer also supports NTP as a reference for the internal clock – setup the time zone and the time stays set automatically. Using the web server, tests can be scheduled and test logs reviewed. Battery health and life estimates are continuously updated. The web server also provides an estimated backup time available, based on real current usage measurements and battery test results. In addition to remote monitoring, the SmartCharge^TM web server allows remote power cycling of attached equipment.
